When my beloved 35-year-old horse, Toby made his transition a few years ago, it was a devastating blow after losing four other companions earlier that same year, Lilly, Jack, Beady Pop, and Chloe.
After three restless nights, I was overwhelmed and exhausted. Toby’s sudden transition was not on my radar and hit me very hard. I did not know he was leaving.
I woke suddenly at 5 AM on the third day after he left and stepped out onto my deck. This was not something I would normally do but I felt oddly drawn to go outside. My little white dog, Beanie the Weenie excitedly stared toward this glorious orange cloud formation you see in the photo above. Beanie always alerted me when the horses were in this part of the property.
As I gazed into the orange glow, I told Toby how much I Ioved and missed him. Suddenly, I felt an immense release of pressure and a wave of peace wash over me. All the grief lifted in what I can only describe as a magical moment. Faintly in the distance, I heard hooves hitting the ground running from right to left. Toby never missed a meal and was always the first to greet me in the barn every morning. I looked around to see my other horse, Rainy, quietly standing in the barn so the horse I heard could only be him.
I snapped this photo.
At that moment, I did not notice the sign from Toby in the clouds.
A few days later, I posted the photo on social media and noticed the image of a horse running in the upper right-hand section of the orange clouds. I’ve outlined it in the second photo.
Can you see the horse? It is running from right to left.
Beanie the Weenie is at the bottom peering through the railings. Can you see him?
Signs are sent to us in many different ways. Clouds, birds, coins, feathers, and songs can all contain a special message for you. Being open and paying attention can be so hard when you are grieving but look closely and you just may find them.
Never doubt a precious sign or message. You saw or felt it for a reason and your companion is trying hard to let you know they are always near.

Thank you for sharing this Karen. My family thinks I’m crazy because I see cloud signs from Widget, my little Chihuahua who died last summer. Widgy sends me clouds in the shape of his face, one was even smiling just like he did. I know it is him. I’m so glad I found you. No one else believes me but I feel so much better now that I have read your books. I also had a session with one of your communicators and I was blown away. Widgy told me so many things only he would know. With all my heart, thank you! Oh, and your books are awesome too. I gave them as Christmas gifts last year. Everyone loves them!
I am so sorry for your loss. I’m a Chihuahua mom too and they are so precious. I’m so happy to hear your session went well. I wish everyone would try so they can receive messages too. Thanks so much for gifting my books. I’m beyond grateful.
My Honey Bear sends me cloud signs all the time. I see her face and sometimes hearts. I know it is her because that same rush of emotions washes over me that you talked about. Thank you for helping me stay connected with her. She was my whole life for 15 years. I miss her so much but those signs make it a little easier.
I am so sorry for the loss of Honey Bear. It is an incredible feeling to see those cloud signs. I know when that wave of emotions hits me that it is a real sign from the afterlife. Thank you for sharing your experience
Wow! I see the outline! I get cloud signs, rainbows, and prisms from my boy, Kona. He died two years ago, and since then, I have seen his body and face in the clouds. He was a husky mix and such a goofball. I miss everything about him. He was a beautiful boy.
I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet Kona. The animals tell me to ‘look up’ when we are deeply grieving. Somehow, they are able to send those cloud signs right where we can see them. It is truly amazing and I love it when it happens. Thanks so much for sharing
