There are so many things we miss about our beloved companions.
What do you miss the most? Watch or listen below.
Beanie is so cute in this video.
I’m sure there are a million things you miss the most about your beloved companions. It is so hard to face each day without them. The grief lingers and can often surface without warning. Pay attention to the subtle signs your companions are sending. They let us know they are near and watching over us from their afterlife.
Our sanctuary volunteer responded to a report of an abandoned cat near her home. Upon arrival, it was obvious this sweet boy was very ill. We will never know how he managed to survive for almost three months after his family moved away and abandoned him. He is now on the road to recovery.
We named this boy, Sherbie because he reminds us of a childhood favorite, orange sherbet.
A thorough vet check determined he is extremely malnourished and needs a mouthful of extractions he tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, or FIV, which is similar to HIV in humans.
FIV attacks and weakens the immune system and there is no cure. However, cats with FIV can live a long and happy life.
Orange tabby cats are extra special. If you’ve ever had one you know what I mean. There is something about these ginger-colored cats that set them apart from the others. We think Sherbie is extra special. His purrs are so loud and each day he gets a little stronger.
With your support, we are saving lives, like Sherbie’s, and it is the best feeling in the world.
Sherbie needs your help for ongoing care and extensive tooth extractions.
Please, only donate if you can.

I miss her smile, her silly antics, her warmth next to me, and her gentle compassion. I miss her physical presence.
So true, their smile, that look they give you and you know how loved you are…priceless. Thank you for sharing your memories
Karen, there are so many things I miss. My boy Rocco had a way of knowing what I needed. No one else can do that. He just knew what I needed.
They seem to have an ability to know exactly what we need. Rocco must really love you and care about you. It is impossible to explain unless you have experienced that kind of connection. Thank you for sharing your favorite memories.
My best boy could always make me laugh. Brody was a comedian and thrived on laughter. I really miss that.
Yes! The laughter…they can be so funny. Thank you for sharing…
From the moment I open my eyes to the moment I fall asleep, I miss it all. That physical connection is what I miss the most. My sweet Misty, my love…
I love this…yes, every waking moment…something to miss… Thank you for sharing Misty’s memories with us.
What DON’T I miss? I see my beautiful Jay everywhere and nowhere. I miss how he loved us, his human and pet family, and made sure we knew it. I miss staring into his eyes while he purred like mad and then, he would place his paw over my hand or get up to come give me a rough tongue kiss on my cheek. He was my everything 🙁
Everything is right! What isn’t there to miss? I agree…Thank you for sharing
